E-Learning Journals

It seems that a new journal on e-learning opens every week (this list was compiled in January 2008 - and certain enough, a different one particular opened this week!). That is not necessarily fine news. It is not troublesome to make even a refereed on the internet journal - get a handful of colleagues from different institutions who think similarly and peer-review each other's articles. The result is generally narrowly focused articles of a poor superior. It's now absolutely nothing brief of a nightmare for students to find fine articles relevant to their study on e-learning, because the relevant articles are probably spread across a lot of obat tradisional maag different journals. We now have a publication culture that puts additional emphasis on publication than on the desires with the readers. What's necessary in this field are fewer but additional selective publications focused on superior and inter-disciplinarity. obat tradisional maag ma09

As with all journals, the probably worth of a journal will rely on your interests. I've to admit that I am not genuinely considering journals that focus on laptop or computer science within the e-learning location, primarily in the event the authors don't base their function on actual educational applications, or in the event the majority of articles don't draw on any pedagogical or educational theory. Because of this I've not rated journals, mainly because your interests are probably to become different from mine, and some of the crucial laptop or computer science journals that publish on e-learning are as a result missing from this list. For any additional complete list of journals, see Doug Holton's terrific EdTechDev weblog. obat tradisional maag ma10

For several academics, journals must be recognized by a particular expert physique, just like the IEEE, to count towards tenure and promotion. I don't especially agree with this method, mainly because e-learning draws from several disciplines, and I'd like as an example to view laptop or computer scientists (who have a tendency to be driven by IEEE requirements) publishing in educational journals (which don't count for promotion and tenure for laptop or computer scientists), and vice versa. My list draws heavily, but not exclusively, on journals recognized by the American Educational Research Association . The descriptions below are in most cases taken from the journal internet webpage.

You'll also generally get fine articles about on the internet teaching within the distance education journals and in journals focused on subject disciplines, e,g. The Background Teacher .

Lastly, one can find some terrific journals on e-learning in other languages, especially Spanish. I had to draw the line someplace, so focused on English-language journals. Depending on the response to this internet webpage, I may well add a list of Spanish, French, Chinese and Scandinavian journals on e-learning later - greater still, send me a link to such a list!
